Need Help With Speakers

Ok Guys I just got 4 Peavey speaker that I can put up in my HS weightroom. However I don’t know a thing about them or what I need to get to hook them up.

They are Peavey SP-2 with Max Power of 300W RMS

Have 8 ohms of Impedance and 800Hz Crossover.

Anybody out there that can help me get this hooked up for my athletes?
Thanks

Plug in the red lead to the red clip on the back of the stereo and do the same with the black.

They may need speaker wires. If so, red to red and black to black.

These are the big concert type speakers. I’m talking the ones that need an amp for them.

That’s the kind. Hook it up to a stereo. Most big-ass stereos are a CD player hooked up to an amp. They have some clips in the back to hook up the wires. Black and red clips, to correspond to blak and red wires.

Also in some it can vary. For example, mine have blue and grey wire, its just color coding to make sure you hook them up properly.

For a basic system you should have:

A source- c.d. player,

A pre-amp- to adjust volume and source selection,

An amplifier- to amplify the signal from the pre-amp.

If the speakers don’t have lugs or posts, you may need a quarter inch plug (like a guitar). You can get these at any shop that carries audio equipment. They will probably solder and heat shrink the plugs on for you.
