So I decided to go ahead and start using fb and ms after a few people added me. Yeah, I’m a little behind the times but from the hour or so of research
I’ve done, not that many people I looked up are on there. Of course some people may not put in their HS b/c they are trying to forget those years and the people they knew lol. BTW I graduated HS in 92.
Ok, so my stupid noob ?s are:
can people tell if you’ve viewed their profile?
2)Any hints on how to approach ex-GFs?
3)Is it cool to message people you knew when you were a kid and haven’t seen in 20-25 years? (I had a friend find me online who I haven’t seen since I was 11 - he’s a mailman in Vegas and married to a fat Mexican chick).
Is it considered creepy since they may not remember you?
What if you see hotties that went to your college or HS the same time you did but you didn’t know them? Is it cool to say hi and how do I do it w/out looking like the superficial prick I am?
Pros and cons of having a private profile? I’m a teacher, so I think a private one is best but I’m not sure.
Anything else I need to know or hints, go ahead and let me know.
almost all those questions are up to your discretion man. That’s like me having a girl’s phone number , but asking you if i should call her or not. Moral of the story…your old enough to make most of those decisions.
Myspace is just another communication tool so treat it as such. Kinda like email with pictures and a profile.
If you want a big NONO which pisses people off it’s not to litter up their bulletin board with mindless surveys, chains letters, etc. I hate it and so do other myspacers.
Oh and beef up your privacy setting so you don’t get solicited by web cam girl sites…unless you are looking for that.
Facebook I got at college, easy way to put faces and names together when you’re meeting a bajillion people in the course of a few weeks. Myspace though…imo is for teen boys to show off their hawt abz and teen girls to see who can look like the biggest whore. Just lame.

And how if Facebook any different? I see all kinds of that crap on Facebook too.
I don’t use my space, but will offer my take on facebook.
Bassically, its e-mail and a message board with pictures. There are a TON of other applications available, but most just complicate things and are nothing more than advertising tools. I would say keep your profile open at first. If one person is continuously a douche bag, just block them. If you get too many chain letters and what not, then consider going private.
As far as contacting old friends, sure go for it. I would say just preface it with a “hey I knew you way back when and we did X together.” or something similar. If it falls through, then you can block them and never have to deal with them again. I doubt it will turn that way though, as most folks are pretty polite, and generally accept all friend requests whether they know you at all or not.
As far as the hot chicks thing… I would not, but thats your call. Just seems too much like internet stalking/pedophilia to me. On the whole, I would say to just do what you would normally do in real life, but in cyberspace.

I won’t deny that there’s a good deal of that on FB as well…I just don’t think it’s as bad. Besides, as long as you don’t accept people’s friend requests, they can’t view anything but your basic info and profile pic (if you even choose to pu one up). Sadly, FB seems to be gradually turning into Myspace…but I mainly use it to keep in touch with some friends that I wouldn’t have an easy way to contact regularly otherwise.

How does one build a profile of the kind of douchebag that is able to bang MySpace and Facebook whores?
*Take a picture of your HAWT abs (photoshop is a bulker’s friend)
*Add every famous internet model on your friends list,
*Pay someone to add shit load of friends.
*Once you have about 10k friends you will have girls offering to send you nudes and meet you up for sex just to be on your top 8.
…
Just guessing,lol[/quote]
no, no, you pretty much covered it. Also make several fake accounts with stolen hot chick pics and send comments to your main account with things like “OMG that party you threw was SO WILD LOL”.

Do that and you’re set.

If you put your profession as club promoter and just make fake flyers you get extra points.
A 34 year old guy on Myspace is creepy by default.

Depending on what type of teacher you are make it private or at the very least be careful of what you post online. I’ve heard of people getting in trouble with their jobs over this stuff because students/employers come across it.
