Myofascial Release and Muscle Weakness Question

I recently bought becoming a supple leopard. kelly advocates myo release to achieve an ideal position, but what if its more of a weakness issue as opposed to a restriction, how does he train weak body parts that arent strong enough to achieve said position under load (e.g. glute med), other trainers would give specific exercises to address it. Would training the bracing movements be enough to fix those issues or a specific exercises needed?
