My/Your Training Aphorisms

…Killed.

 1. Tired cliches are still motivational to some.

I’ve beat a one-eyed snake before.

Recently I’ve written down aphorisms that I made concerning training. I would like to hear all of your aphorisms that you all use and/or made. This will be interesting. As for my aphorisms, they are split into two categories-The Mental and Physical aspect of training. Here they go:

Mental
I. There is only “I can.”
II. Fear is real; cowardice should not be.
III. Pain is but a word.
IV. You control the body.
V. Stand your ground.
VI. Be the dominant one, no matter the foe.
VII. Only the weak feel fatigue.
VIII. Failure becomes a guest where it is welcome.
IX. Become content with only necessity.
X. Complaints are for the spoiled.
XII. Always remain thirsty.
XIII. Perfection should be the fundamental goal.

Physical
I. The chest symbolizes dominance. Sculpt it as such.
II. A body is only complete with a strong, defined axis.
III. A strong horse does not have weak legs.
IV. For defense, your back should have adequate length.
V. Arms are the body’s spears; they are to be quick and sturdy.
VI. The shoulders are the mountains of the body.
VII. Strong animals can kill with grip alone.
VIII. The teeth of wolves strike fear.
IX. A strong building is as important as its strong foundation.

If you have trouble understanding one. I’ll be glad to explain it to you. Can’t wait to hear all yours!
Wow…I’m gonna steal all of your Aphorisms and copyright the hell of them…Patent Pending.

“A body is only complete with a strong, defined axis.” Hell does this mean?

 2. When aphorism is needed the mind is weak.

Helga, then please explain why my mind is strong yet I like aphorisms? I’ll do it for you-Aphorisms allow me to give out my opinions in a quick manner.

As for you Wol, concerning my aphorism, basically I’m saying you can have strong arms, legs, everything-but having that with a pudgy gut means you are basically unfinished work.

Helga,

I’ll have a 25 oz pitcher of Fosters, lady.

Snap snap!

So quick nobody gets it.

Just because you can say doesn’t mean it makes sense.

Just ask Rosie.

You have to be an idiot not to understand those.

You’re right. We’re all idiots.

25 oz, that is the size beer that women drink in Australia.
Fulmen wrote:

Then I am certainly an idiot.

Would you care to explain this one.

So strong minded that you had to remove your aphorisms from your own thread due to some gentle criticism.

Nothing like standing up for what you believe in.

It wasn’t the criticism, the thread was just turning into a circus.
