My Unsolicited, Moronic Advice

So I’m in the gym, and these two guys are squatting. These guys were kind of smirking when I was squatting, I guess I wasn’t using as much weight as they thought I should on my light, dynamic work day… but I digress. So the one guy loads up the weight, gets under the bar, and sets his feet apart in a wide stance. His knees actually touch for a good number of the reps.
So after he finishes his set, I say “Look, I really hate it when people give advice in the gym, and I never do it… but could I make one suggestion?” He nods. “When you were squatting, your knees were just about touching, there… and that’s really rough on them.” He blankly stares at me. “You should really try to keep your shins perpendicular to the ground.” Nothing. “Ok, have a good workout.” Still nothing. AAAAAARRRRRRRRRGGGGHHHHHHH.

Was he box squatting?-There’s no reason to keep the knees perpendicular in a regular, athletic squat, actually I should say it’s rather impossible.

What the hell are you talking about?
