Good day today. Can’t seem to find enough food to eat, but I saw a really fast 315 front squat and 495 deadlift by a senior today at my gym — both rare sights.

Also, 5/3/1 aficionado @T3hPwnisher , since I’m only 3 workouts away from finishing my cycle, I’m getting ready to make the switch to 5/3/1 this summer. Would you suggest a deload week @40, 50, 60% and then a Training Max week of:

Monday — Deadlift
Tuesday — Press
Friday — Squat

Or would you move squats to Thursday? Thanks.

When in doubt, I’d go with a low TM. It looks like you’ve been lifting for a while now, so you should have an awareness of what you can do.

Decent day today. 270 flew off the ground, but I only managed to hit 120 x 4.5 for press. May have tweaked something trying to grind that last rep out, lol. Time will tell. Satisfying cycle.

Since my technique is now much better than it was a month ago, my deadlifts feel better than they ever have. They look better too. 300 flew up today, my back didn’t even begin to show any signs of rounding. Squatted, pressed, and deadlifted my estimated “Training Maxes” today to get a feel for them. Squatting 255 was just a bit harder than it should have been, but presses and deadlifts felt smooth. Doing Wendler’s high-intensity deload. Done in this order:

335 x 3 (barely missed lockout at 4, but it was probably a mistake to go for that rep if only because my lower back was rounded. Felt like I was gonna vomit afterwards lol).

115 x 1 (felt easy).
140 x 2 (bar could have been 35 instead of 45 lb., but I either set a PR or tied a PR (130 x 2)).
