I am a new person to eating right but have been reading a lot of info on T-Nation. I am trying to lose weight without losing muscle and i didnt do to good in the beginning. I started at 310 pounds, I am now 255 pounds But i lost the weight by basically starving myself and working out. I read about catabolism(?) where you body depletes the muscle storage and i believe that happened to me.
I now eat a diet of 125 grams of protein, 150 grams of carbs, and 50 grams of fat a day is this a good diet?
I am not a body builder just looking to maintain what strength I have left. I eat as many of my carbs as I can before 5 pm and try to make my last meal almost exclusively protein and low fat. Am I doing this right any suggestions help is more than appreciated. message me if you have any good ideas.

125 gr of protein =500 cal
150 gr of carbs =600 cal
50 gr of fat =450 cal
total = 1550 cal
At 255lb. you’re starving yourself. Try this rule of thumb. 1 gr of protein per lb. of Lean Body Mass for maintenance. 1.5 gr or more if you want to grow or get stonger. Adjust the fat and carbs accordingly.
If you nail these and you will be well on your way. T Dawg two above is a great diet that is easy to LIVE with and shed lbs.IMO
Hope that helps,

I agree with Phill. It’s my favorite “diet” on this site, I think. Perhaps do a search at the top of the page for terms like “habit” and “long haul”; you should find some great info. - practical and theoretical.
