My Dog Died...

this evening and i am soo sad. :frowning: :frowning: :frowning: Undescribable. I haven’t even realized the loss.

He had been infected with Kalazaar by a fucking mosquito.

VERY SAD DAY for me.

I’m really sorry to hear that. I’m an animal lover and I don’t even like to think about how I’ll feel when my girl goes. She’s about 8 now…

Lost my shepherd a few years back to heat-stroke - he was 15. I know how it sucks to lose your pet. My condolences.

Real sorry to hear that.

Sorry to hear that man. There really isn’t much that can be said except just cherish the times you had with him

:frowning:

I’m so, so sorry to hear that. I’ve lost many pets over the years - most of them well before their time. I’ve loved them all but a few really stand out as special. What was your dog like? Do you have any pics?

I still miss my Penny. My dad had to put her down when she and I were 15 years old. We grew up together from pups.

I feel for you. I really do.

He was the best and most beautiful dog ever. I ll try to upload a pic or two later if i can…

It’s like losing the most loyal best friend. It sucks so much it’s ridiculous.

And i witnessed his death, so this sucks even more so. I can’t get this image off my head.

Yesterday he couldn’t even stand up on his own legs. I took him for a walk and he fell while he was pissing :frowning: :frowning: I picked him up and carried him upstairs. He couldn’t stand up till today. He was just lying down staring at me.

In the last couple of hours i heard a weird barking/crying voice and right after he threw up blood (very dark colour almost black) :frowning: ). He then went into a uremic shock/comma (because of kidney failure). Eventually the vet offer him euthanasia. I think it was better that way

Very sad day for me, i ll go sleep now, so i can’t think about anything.

Very sorry for you friend. The death of a dog can be very saddening. I had a dog that was hit by a car and I walked around sobbing for 3 days solid.

Maybe getting another dog will help you. It helps some people. I personally feel that saving a dog from the pound can help you get over the loss.

That sucks man.

My condolences.

Truly sorry about your loss, man. Dogs are often closer friends than people. Remember your times together.

Sorry about your loss. We have a 8 year old dog, I’m 50 and she’s the first dog I’ve had, can imagine your pain. As someone already mentioned, when you’re ready, think about a dog from the shelter or a rescue.

We are very saddened to hear this.

I’m very sorry to hear about your dog. When my dog was 14, she started having seizures. We brought her to the vet and they said she had a tumor in the brain. They said it would be hard to remove and very hard on a dog her age. We didn’t want to do this to her. They prescribed medications that kept the seizures at bay but occasionally, they would happen. It was heart breaking to see her go through one. Eventually, she had trouble walking and she was running into the walls at our house. My family had to bring her into the vet to put her to sleep. I didn’t want to see my dog suffer after so many good years, so putting her to sleep was the most humane thing to do. I think it would be selfish of any owner to keep their dog alive for a few more months when the dog is in so much pain.

After you have a dog in your family for a good number of years, they really are part of your family. Just remember the good times you had with your dog and the happiness they brought to everyone in your family. Remember how good you treated them and how they treated you.

Take care.

So sorry to hear it. I had to put mine to sleep a few years ago, and I still catch my self looking for him when I pull in the driveway sometimes.

I’m very sorry to hear your news.

The hardest thing I’ve ever done was take my dog to the vet to be euthanized. The fact that she trusted me to keep her safe from harm all the way to the end was absolute torture.

I’ve never cried so hard in my entire life.

I hope your grieving is as brief as possible.

Hey man, I feel your pain…I lost both my dogs a year apart and it is BRUTAL. First one I found in the garage, the second one my brother found floating in the pool. Funny thing is the night before the first one went, she was throwing up regularly and having trouble walking(lab retriever about 12 yrs old) Well I knew she was acting weird and she just kind of gave me this look as if to say, “hey I’m not outta here thanks for everything.” So sad but that look made me sit with her and pet her solo for about 10 minutes and that is something I will never forget.

When the second one went, I had JUST moved out of home a week to the day that she went…almost as if she made sure she stuck around until I was grown and ready to leave the house. SO SAD I AM TEARING UP AS I WRITE THIS!!

Like everyone said, all you can do is grieve and remember everything that made him/her YOUR dog and not just another animal.

I know I just posted but reading Bauer’s post reminded me of how torn up I was about my second dog passing away…she was sick for a while and we were teetering between alrite should we have mercy and put her down or just see how it plays out. What Bauer wrote was exactly I was afraid of…after all of the years of protecting and caring for her I dreaded the thought of her last thoughts being, “you bastard!!”

Sorry to hear about your loss.

Honestly, I think their last thought is still “I trust you” as they drift off.

I truly believe that no human being can be as unwaveringly loyal as a dog.

Nevertheless, I think I said “I’m sorry” to her about a million times as I lay there sobbing like a baby.

Man, thats rough. Dogs are the greatest pets. I like cats and all, but no other animal will love you like a dog.
