My 405 Deadlift

Haa! Just did it for the first time today. Grats and see you at 500!

Jan 2010: 365x1
July 2010: 365 miss
August 2010: 365x1
September 10, 2010: 375x3
september 17,2010: 405x1 !!!

I stood there holding the weight for ~10seconds, just looking at myself in the mirror with these almost now square shaped stacks of plates on either side of the bar. I bet half the guys in the gym at my school couldn’t even name the exercise.

If you don’t deadlift as part of your routine, what the fuck ARE you doing?

Well done, I hit my first 400 recently too. See you at 500!

As for getting it off the ground remember your hips and shoulders should rise together.

If your shoulders rise first your doing it wrong.

Also try thinking of pushing your feet through the floor rather than standing up. Think this everytime you walk up to the bar.

Congrats! I bet it wasn’t near ten seconds, haha! I only say this because I hit some prs lately and got them on video. What I thought was ten or so was about 1.5.

But congrats on your good work.

Sorry that the video is so grainy. I just got done with a Squat workout and I didn’t think I could get it but I had my brother get his camera just in case…

This is a 60lb PR, after 3 months of workout out using 5/3/1

Great job!
