Muscle sorness as indicator

Is muscle sorness a reliable indicator of when you can train the same muscle again ?

I mean.. sometimes I'm at least somewhat sore for 5 days after a squatting session, and at a minimum sore 3 days for any given sesion.(typical workouts include heavy "5x5" intensity with medium 8<10 x 3 intensity)

Generally,you should not w/o a muscle until it has been “sore-free” for 1 day,but I think 2 days without soreness is better.You can’t grow until you recover (Oh,your immune system needs to recover as well as an individual muscle group).When doing 5X5’s your recovery time WILL be longer than when doing 3X8-10’s !
