Movie Emasculation, Gayness

Judd Apatow has said that he will have an exposed penis in all of his films. I can’t find the entire quote, but he says “America fears the penis, and that’s something I’m going to help them get over” ( Judd Apatow - Biography - IMDb ), and he’s pretty much the big producer in hollywood as far as comedies go. Just look at the films he’s involved in (which include Forgetting Sarah Marshall btw). This is going to be around for a while it seems…

I heard they eat souls. Ya know, bulkin’.

I’ve never liked the way female nudity is (in Hollywood) supposed to be sexy but male nudity is comic. It’s the whole nervous-laughter ha-ha-what-if-he’s-gay nonsense.

What are you crying about, Rockscar?

I could quickly name dozens of macho movies from the last 10 years.

Little gay asian dude full frontal and the end a picture of a chick holding one dude’s junk through his fly with his cock showing.

How the fuck does that not get an NC-17 rating is beyond me.[/quote]

It was funny though because he was frantically beating the shit out of people with a crow-bar. Violence appears to be the key here. How funny would that scene have been if it hadn’t been in commercials and nobody saw it coming?

The only thing hateful here are the words you are typing.

I knew this thread might offend someone. How is expressing distaste for increasing gay comedy and male nudity hate? I just was asking why the trend, and why is it OK for homosexuality to be a big part of many movies FOR THE LAUGH.

Talledega Nights (Jean Gerrard)
Superbad (They implied the 2 kids did something the last night)
Dewey Cox (Full frontal in this)

Maybe it’s funny, and yes I’ll laugh many times too, but to me every year it gets more and more out to left field. Maybe I’m wrong.

Maybe it’s just the string of movies I’ve picked lately.

But don’t tell me I’m a hater for not LIKING the specific content. That’s all. Maybe I’m just fucking old.

You’re right, just the latest string of movies has been pretty gay focused comedy from my point of view. Is there such a thing as a Macho Comedy?

That’s it.

Wait… I’m sure I’m older than you, yet I’m not phased by the movies. They have NO bearing on my life whatsoever. But perhaps I’ve been fortunate in avoiding those films you speak of.

I think I know what your’e saying.

Just wait it out Rockscar. It’s just a film industry phase.

Maybe I should stop renting from the local video store…Back Door Video? I thought it was a straight family type place…

Oh shit…did I just crack a Gay joke? Fuck.

That really pleases my homosexual palette…

Good, good, you’re finally unclenching the buttcheeks (did I just make a homo erotic funny?). The thing is rock people can choose to always be on the lookout for things that offend them. This makes for highly annoying bitchy types that never seem to stop complaining. Or, they can choose to live and let live in ninety percent of cases where the thing that offends them doesn’t ever really come into their life unless they invite it.

It’s less about offensive and more about being tired of it already.

I know what you mean, “Forgetting Sarah Marshall”, Will Farrell Movies…

I think it’s because people think it’s funny to see an out of shape dude naked…

I don’t like it either…

I did watch that “Revolutionary Road” movie a couple days ago and although the movie was boring, I did see a nice rack…It wasn’t Kate Winslet…

It was no implied that anything homosexual happened at the end of Superbad. If you listen to the commentary ( yeah, im one of those guys) the director and cast talk about how people in the theaters kept saying things about that, but it was never their intent, it was just showing that these two guys had to be that drunk to really say how much they loved their best friend.

In all honesty it does sound like you are a little uncomfortable with your sexuality, but it might just be that we come from different generations.

I think it would be one huge waste of energy to go around all day in 2009 hating everyone who might be gay or looks that way. You would have no energy to lift weights.

Hollywood does follow trends. Being an actor and script writer I have seen a lot of upcoming scripts that focus that way. As long as America buys it, Hollywood is gonna sell it. Don’t look now but BRUNO is coming out soon too. Theres funny and theres crossing the line…but people usually find both equally halarious. the more risque the movie…the more people want to see it. Sometimes the whole gay themed scenes in movie is like that run on joke that shouldve ended while it was still funny.

I met my current GF at a party where everyone except me and her were gay. Huzzah for homo’s

That was not the consensus at my house with my friends. Fine, I accept that gay is in. It does not mean I need to like it, and because I don’t admire it, does not mean I’m uncomfortable with my sexuality. I have gay friends, and they agree with me that homosexuality is mainstream and in movies a lot more than before. This is a fact. Does that mean I’m defective because I don’t think it’s necessary or something I prefer to watch?

I simply don’t like it and would prefer comedy that does not need to rely on getting gay or naked for a laugh.

I went to a wedding in Australia with the same scenario on how the couple met.
