Most Overhyped Movies

whatever the latest Resident Evil movie was. woooooooooooooooooow. i kept seeing how it was like number in the box office when i read the paper so im like alright ill go check it out. i was supposed to go out to a party one night but never got the call so i called up my friend because i wasnt about to stay in and was like dude wanna see the new Res Evil movie? so we go and i fucking swear to you the movie is like 1 scene.

the whole time theyre in the fucking desert and i dont know whats going on i kept like nodding off and id come to and theyre still fighting crows, i swear there was a crow scene that lasted about 30 mins. then they kept talking about Alaska like WE HAVE TO GO TO ALASKA they cant survive there. you know what though? they never fucking went to alaska. they went to some fucking underground lab with some clones…epic fail, giant piece of shit, call it whatever you want just dont see the damn thing. it may be the worst movie ive ever seen - all emphasized by a giant screen, surround sound and dark lighting.

Star Wars: Episdoe I The Phantom Menace.

Everyone was so excited that the Star Wars franchise was coming back, and just assumed that this movie would rock. Well, it didn’t, and the second prequel wasn’t that great, either. Too kiddie and not enough action.

Now I will say that I recently re-watched the prequels when they were on Spike and Episode I wasn’t as bad as I remembered. Definitely the weakest of all the Star Wars movies, but not the worst movie ever made, either.

Episode III is really good.

i think all the star wars are over rated as fuck.

scarface is probaly the most over rated movie though. its a wiggers wet dream though.

…obviously you haven’t seen ‘Reign over me’?

Man I almost forgot about that piece of crap. Stood in line for almost two hours to get tickets the opening weekend. was expecting another masterpiece, instead we got the live action equivalent of a bad Saturday morning cartoon. if George Lucas is reading this: you owe me $8 brother!

Transformers (still haven’t seen it because ALL Michael Bay films are just ADHD porn)
Anything starring Angelina Jolie (God are her films awful!)
Anything starring Jessica Alba (see above)
All 3 terrible ass SpiderMan movies.

Wow…you guys are harsh!!! Most of the flicks you mentioned, I enjoyed! LMFAO!!! Spidermans 1, 2, and 3, yeah, enjoyed. All the Matrix movies were good, and on and on. Now, I will agree that Star Wars I sucked big nuts. But my list is below.

Star Wars Ep. 1
Rocky Horror Picture Show
AVP 2
Jeepers Creepers
Napoleon Dynamite
Ultraviolet
Blair Witch 1 and 2
Boogeyman
and a lot of others I don’t have time to think of!

Definitely Spider Man 3. [/quote]

Spider man 3 was one of the all time greatest box office hits, and it was horrible. I wanted to leave after an hour. I think this was definitely the most overhyped movie. Blair witch was bad too. I mean the movie ends with a guy staring in a corner.

Transformers was the shit.

Jarhead

I must have watched the trailer online a 100 times. My brother had just joined the marines a few months before the movie came out. Me and my friends were pumped.

I was disappointed to say the least.

Episode I had no chance. There’s no way in hell any movie could live up to the hype that was surrounding the Star Wars prequel. Granted, Lucas didn’t help much and it was the weakest Star Wars movie, but it just had no chance.

Others:
Napoleon Dynamite - I was so excited to see this after hearing from so many people how funny it was. I bought the DVD, watched it once, and haven’t watched it since. I liked it a little, but it’s not near as good as people let on.

Superman Returns - Maybe next time Superman can actually fight someone. And why did they have to make a fucking kid?

Donnie Darko - Tried to watch it twice. Fell asleep twice.

Borat - I saw everything that was funny in this movie in the previews, other than the naked wrestling.

Lost in Translation - I don’t know how hyped up this was, but I remember there being a lot of mentions Oscar-winning for this and Bill Murray. I like Murray so I decided to see this. Booooooorrrring!!!

Citizen Kane - Rosebud my ass.

LOL

I’d like to know how many people who consider themselves ‘movie buffs’ have actually sat through the entirety of Citizen Kane, which is supposed to be the epitome of cinema.

I have, and yeah, that shit sucks. Just a totally different time, I suppose…

citizen kane is the shit. No, its not the type of movie that you jus pop into the player and watch over and over again but it’s still enjoyable

Superbad–Did anyone really think this movie was funny?
23 was pretty terrible, too.

I think we have a winner.

I know that every person told me Jurassic Park was so incredible, and then I watched it and thought “eh.”

Sahara was the most disappointing since I love Cussler books.

The Heartbreak Kid with Ben Stiller was awful.

And I like horror flicks, so I rented Dead Silence. Worst mistake of my life.

On the other hand, Ernest Goes to Camp was a pleasant surprise.

True. If you haven’t seen the movie, don’t criticize it.

Jar Jar Binks. Lucas deserved every slap in the face he got for that.

I agree, but Jar Jar was no worse than the Ewoks.

OK, yes he was.
