Im about to start Joel Marion’s Stripped Down Hypertrophy All Articles - T NATION and was wondering whether to do dips or DB shoulder presses.
I’m leaning towards dips but I wanted to see what others would choose if they could only have one vertical push in their program.

Since, your horizontal push is a benching movement, I would lean towards DB shoulder presses.
agree with the incline pressing. I love dips, but my experience has been that bench and dips hit a lot of the same parts of the muscles, while incline presses hit the upper pec and shoulders more. Just my $.02

I like High incline DB press with a neutral hand position. I set it around 10 degrees or so.
I think i’ll give both a try for the first few workouts alternating between the two and see which one is better with weighted chins.

X2. Push press and it is not even close.
