I would say that I agree with the taking care of your appearance having something to do with the amount of female nudity that you encounter. I am one of those guys who work out religiously, go tanning (no time to do it naturally lately), shave “down there”, etc. The girls (and women) DO NOTICE. I am not a metrosexual (not enough shoes), but I do the little extra stuff that pays off later. A good tan always looks good. A neat, clean-shaven appearance shows that you are not a slob, and that you care about yourself. These outward indicators give the victims, er, ladies a look at what’s on the inside of us. If I look like a successful, attention-to-detail kind of man, I will have an advantage over a guy that looks like a slovenly uncaring goofball. Seems pretty obvious to me, at least.
There is a type of hippie chick that lives in Austin and doesn’t go for the tanned, shaved look. They dress really casual in jeans, tank top and flip-flops on the weekends. They like hanging out with a guy who hasn’t shaved in a couple days and smells like mesquite smoke.
A lot of them are hotter than hell though! I’m never moving back to Pittsburgh!

That goes without saying, that rich guys and guys in entertainment have an easier time at it. But they still have to look good (and have game) to get a) a lot more sex or b) hotter women.
CIP- I know a guy, 31 yrs old, who’s an MD. He drives a BMW,of course, and just finished residency last year which means soon he’ll be making excellento dinero.

Im not really a metrosexual…but im sure i will be one in the future when im older , wealthier and in better shape ( post shoulder surgury). I beleive that when im more buff people will look at me a little more dangerously , and so i can balance it out w/ some metro panache. Right now i would look like a downright nelly running around w/ styled eyebrows and manicures and zero-body hair on my tanned bod but when im rich and buff it will be ok right? As a side note, i have noticed that a lot of the male role models that i admire have metro tendencies…

Another paesano with a thick, bushy, black unibrow (like me) told me that’s how he does it but it only lasts a week.
Isn’t it easier to get them waxed or whatever, because you get the bonus of having them trimmed properly?
Or do you trim as well as pluck with tweezers?

Man, I am in no way a metro, my roommate is a quasi metro, and I make fun of him for it, but there is one guy at the gym I currently go to, who wears very stylish clothes to workout in, and, I swear, make-up. And I think that is just going too far!!
It is one thing to care about your appearance enough to do some ‘feminine-esque’ grooming but if you start wearing makeup, I am drawing the line on acceptability, and I think people like him are responsible for much of the de-masculization of all things ‘men’

Will this come to be? Yes, according to what`s happening in Brazil.
Brazil is a couple of steps in advance of North America in the Cult of Me Inc. thing. And their yearly ascencion of standards is just mind boggling.
Also, theres just too much disposable left here to <i>not</i> allow it to happen. Belay that. Its not even necessary. Microcredit exists in Brazil. So that would be the next logical step.
Therefore, Metrosexualism has potential to spread even more. And, short of World War III or Great Depression II, nothing in the backfound or culture seems to be able to stop it.
Im not too sure if debating about it will change anything, though. Just look at the progresses in Gays and Lesbians rights. Not that theres anything wrong with that. LOL. They sure have good lobbies and friends in high places…

But it doesn’t hurt and may even help. I’m just talking about getting an edge, that’s all.
