More can be better - Chad Waterbury

I’m about to do Chad Waterbury’s more can be better programme but I’m slightly confused on a few counts. Firstly I’m unsure as to how many exercises in each session, it seems that you only perform one per session but I would like clarification on that.

Secondly you are given two lower body workouts for the week but divided into maximal(compound movements) and explosive (lighter/isolation)so am I to assume you don’t perform both the squat and deadlift in a given week?

Please help, this programme looks great on paper and I can’t wait to get started.
