Unless I'm very much mistaken, Muay Thai is the same as any other activity that requires you to expend a large amount of sweaty, explosive energy... I dunno why you would think there's something magical about it that should require thinking beyond "Glucose and electrolytes".
There isn't, thus the question could be generalized.
