mixing your proteins

Do any of you guys mix in different forms of proteins into your meals? For instance, chicken breast and cottage cheese, or eggs and cottage cheese. I always do this, and it might not have any significance but I feel that I cover my bases a little more. In the sense that I am getting a variety of proteins.

I do. I can’t say whether it makes a difference of not, but I also think it’s a good idea too.

I do it frequently. My before bed meal is almost always a combo of eggs and cottage cheese. When I have cooked turkey on hand, I throw pieces of it in the mix as well.

Another good mix for a protein + fat meal that I use is:
1 can albacore tuna or salmon
1 swath of Cottage Cheese
3 eggs, with 1 or 2 yolks excluded
Talk with flax or fish oil

This yields somewhere in the neighborhood of 60-70 grams of protein depending on some of the variables. Make sure to take some ginger beforehand to help with absorbtion and gas.

I tend to avoid all dairy products except mozzarella cheese and whey protein.

Always.

Mixing protein sources nets a more complete amino profile. Your meals will be less boring as well.
