I’ve only used the Wild Raspberry flavor, so perhaps this characteristic is unique to that particular flavor, but if I mix up a couple scoops of Surge in say, 16-20 oz of cold water (like, been sitting in the fridge for hours cold) this stuff ends up with a massive “head” on it???
It’s like quickly dumping out a warm Guinness Stout into a mug on a hot summer day
My only solution has been to add just a bit of my Udo’s Choice 3-6-9 oil blend to each serving (less than a tsp usually) and VOILA! No foam/froth whatsoever, not to mention creamy smooth…yummy. Of course then I’m all paranoid about blunting the insulin response of the Surge etc…sigh…
And am I the only sumbitch that sees absolutely no benefit to using Surge pre-workout?? Everytime I do that I just end up burping throughout the workout, and I usually have trouble getting through my sets.
For the past 3 months I’ve been working out right when I first wake up…just pop a Spike and some BCAA’s and I’m off. Made some of the best gains of my life doing it too. I have fantastic energy as well during my workouts.
I understand the arguments for pre & peri-workout nutrition and the reasoning behind NOT working out right when one wakes up but I mean, I can’t argue with the results at this point.
I only use one scoop before training…still gives me problems. it’s only less than a tsp of oil…I can’t imagine that defeats the purpose of using Surge in the grand scheme of things.

Certainly hasn’t slowed me down any :0
use a spoon…sigh…

You don’t have to slam the stuff. I try to sip on mine on a somewhat empty stomach about 30 minutes before my workout. The foam goes away if you let it sit for a minute or two. I even drink some towards the end of my workout as well. Everyones body is different. I say just keep trying different amounts until you feel comfortable and slowly increasing it from there. Pre and post workout nutrition is vital and you will definately come to rely on it if you ever want to go to the next level with your body assuming you have normal genetics…
Adding fat is going to negate the actual purpose of Surge which is to be a fast digesting source of protein and carbs because fat will slow down the digestion and absorption.

What does the orginal flavor taste like?
I have raspberry and rootbear float right now.[/quote]
Original kinda takes like Angelfood cake if my recollection serves me. But a little sweeter. I haven’t had it in a while since I’ve been trying the other flavors. I think my fav is rasberry. But I’ll keep switching it between all the flavors so they don’t get old.
I think the reason I got stuck on raspberry was because before/during/after a workout, the idea of a “milkshake” has never been very appealing to me
I mean, after intense exercise you’d never really think, “gee I wish I had a chocolate bar rt now or some vanilla ice cream” Something light, more akin to gatorade seems more palatable.
Maybe that’s just me though. I’ll just keep adding my dash of oil I guess. I really don’t have time to sit around and wait for it to “foam down”, so to speak.
I dunno how it goes down in a couple minutes…I actually tried mixing my post-workout Surge before I went to the gym, leaving it in the fridge the entire time, and when I get back it STILL had a decent head on it???
I’m really still curious though: why does it foam up like that?? I’ve never come across a supp that does that…
