Military Press Rep Scheme


I was talking to my buddy this past weekend and he told me that he modified his press day to a 7/5/3 in place of 5/3/1. He said he did it for shoulder health which makes sense (especially for someone like myself, considering I have experienced tendonitis and a grade 3 AC joint separation), since no body is gonna win a meet for having a huge press. I was just wondering what your take on this alternative rep scheme is?

How long have you done the program? I’m curious because your friend doesn’t have the slightest clue.

I personally liked using lower TM and volume (fsl) for press, but what’s the difference between 5/3/1 and 7/5/3?

I don’t know how long he’s been doing it but I asked him if he read any of the books and of course he didn’t. I’m on my second cycle and run the BBB how it’s written.
