Military Press Bodyweight

Hi Cadav,

I’d have to agree with Julius_Ceasar on his point about what distinguishes a Military Press from a Push Press. Both are similar movements, but in a Push press you are allowed to use your legs to push the weight overhead, while in a military press, you are not.

If you are really looking to do a Bodyweight Military press, then I’d suggest giving Poloquin’s “1-6 principle” a try.

I’ve been utilizing this protocol lately and have gone up on all of my lifts (at least the one’s I’m working on) by 30 lbs in just 3 weeks. Currently I’m only about 5 lbs from a bodyweight military press myself.

Good luck and good training,
