Meltdown success stories?

Let’s say I workout at 10. Is this the right way to supp with PD?

Wake up @ 9 and immediately take PD.
Wait ~20 minutes, consume some form of protein (whey, cottage cheese)
Then following the workout, use a PWO of 2:1 Carb to protein.

Sound ok? Or should I consume some carbs (oatmeal) prior to working out as well?
