Meltdown question

Newbie here. I just started lifting a couple of weeks ago, but I was reading the Meltdown program. I think at this point I would be biting off more than I could chew, but I’d like to try this down the road. I just have a question about this sentence:

“This type of training is best adopted after the completion of a strength phase and would then meet the intensity-to-volume periodization model.”

What would be an appropriate strength phase?

If you’ve been using weights in the neighborhood of 85 percent or so of your one rep max and above for at least 3-4 weeks, this is considered a strength phase.

What Monty said is correct, but if you’ve only been lifting for a few weeks now, don’t worry about it just yet.

Get on a simple, solid program based around the fundamental, compound movements.

Run a search for the “Beginner’s Blastoff” program. It’s right up your alley.
