Anyone used the mattes method of stretching and how did they find it? I,m contemplating buying a stretching book and don’t know which.
I use the stretch techniques not only on myself but on clients too ( I am a massage therapist/bodyworker). It is known as Active Isloated straching (AIS)and Wharton’s stretch book also is about it.
It serves a good purpose esp. safe strech for ‘unhealthy’ muscles. My hammies and neck respond well. the benefit of Mattes book is that it is comprehensive - covers almsot every muscle.
If you go on youtube there are some sample vids of folks doing AIS.
