Has anyone else used John’s massive eating calorie numbers and found them to be too high? I used his calculations on a bulking diet and I put on way too much fat. I’m trying to figure my cutting calories, but 3729 seems kind of high to cut on (I calculated calories using his formula and then subtracted 500). I’m 207 at 13.5%.
Yes, I found them to be too high, but I think a lot of it has to do with overestimating activity level. Tailor it to your needs and go from there.
I found his calculations for don’t diet to be extremely high. I was actually gaining lean mass instead of losing bodyfat.
