Massage Therapy.

How many of you get massage therapy or some other form of treatment on a regular basis? Do you find it helps with your training?

I unfortunately managed to tear a lat muscle, just a minor tear from my understanding, so I have been to massage therapy a few times this week. I definitely felt looser the next day, not sure its doing too much yet to accelerate repairing the tear, but I could see the benefit in somewhat regular treatment.

The effects of massage can mimic the effects of exercise on your muscles. As such, its probably not the best idea to go train right after a massage (I'd suggest getting one on a day off).

Also, like anything else that stimulates your parasympathetic nervous system (massage, yoga, meditation), I believe it can help you repair better and, therefore, get more out of your workouts.

Massage is one of the best things you can do for your body. You could massage prior to working out on the foam roller. It does wonders for hip mobility prior to squatting.

Great for recover after injury.
