Mass gain

I recently read on another forum that for every pound of muscle one gains, an addittional 4-5 lbs of supportive tissue are also gained. I don’t remember learning about this in any kinesiology classes. While it makes sense that some supportive tissue would be gained, 4-5 lbs seems a bit excessive. Any body want to clear this up?

If you’ve ever cut open a muscle and looked at the cross section you would know that’s not true.

I’d go so far as to say it’s ridiculous. Perhaps for every 4-5lbs of muscle gained you gain a pound of supportive tissue, but even that is stretching it.
