Mass gain with higher Protein ratio?

I keep reading it is better to have a higher Carb ratio for Mass gain, but many using a higher Protein ratio like 40% seem to stay leaner and still gain some good mass. I know that it all depends on the individual but I’m just curious to see how many of you have had success with the 40%P 30%C 30%F ratios for mass
gain.

the basics are pretty simple - If you have a high metabolism you are gonna require a lot more calories relative to your size. So to avoid getting energy form muscle catabolism, you provide your body with more carbs to use from which to synthesis energy.

If your metabolism is slower, then you can get away with consuming less carbs, which may otherwise be stored as adipose tissue (fat). In this case, yeah I’d up the protein.
