Masculinities Studies

The weenies are winning. Does this world really need more people with degrees rooted in identity politics?

If you're a man and you don't know what it means to be masculine, that's ok. But isn't that something that can better be addressed by going out into the world and discovering yourself rather than spending 2 years earning a Masters in a completely useless major?

What’s to study?

Respect yourself and others, stay in great shape, dress like a guy, have a great girl, drive a decent sled.

… can I have my degree now? I think I just earned it with this post.

Basically having a huge and growing number of people growing up in single mother households and the political distortion of women pushing off men because they can steal resources from other families through the state has left society without the life lessons of masculinity and femininity that they would get from a 2 parent household. So natural the government and it’s propaganda arm in academia want to take that place as much as possible.

With this post you too have earned a degree in Masculine Studies.

What exciting career path will you choose with your degree?

Me?

With my advanced degree in Masculine Studies, I’ll be applying for the assistant manager’s role at my local Arby’s.

Well, there we go. The men have finally gained the legitimacy they’ve long been denied, taking their place with women and the LBGT community and so on. Long live men, who can no longer be told that they are not people in their own right!

I’m going to go work for the huffintonpost/gawker/buzzfed websites and write daily articles lamenting the ignorance of traditional male values while incorporating lots of out of context gifs.

This is not a group I want to be part of. My self worth does not require it’s own Masters program.

Almost literally unbelievable!

Man gets his leg bitten off by a shark attack. He retrieves his leg from the shark and beats the shark to death with his own leg… That just happened!

Proof that we still don’t have a full and complete understanding of what our brains are capable of getting our bodies to do.

More deadlifts are needed.

SAMA Rule #1.

Yeah, I have no desire to be associated with womyn’s studies, either. Like seriously, this is how incompetent and self-loathing we are? I despair.

The Stately Harold is a satirical website. None of the stories have a grain of truth to them and the opinions do not belong to real people.

I should have known better than to believe that story.

You can still study it and become almost as manly as that fictional character

Damn. When I first read this I understood it to mean that the Masculinities Studies article was satire and I was relieved. I actually thought it made for pretty clever satire. Then I realized it was the other way round. I am disappoint.

Yep, beating the shark to death with your severed limb seemed more reasonable to me than a Masters Degree in manhood. Guess I’m still an optimist after all.
