Marine Vet Sets Pull-Up Record

#1

Marine Corp veteran Guy Valentino completed 5,862 pull-ups in 24 hours to break the Guinness World Record. The old record was 5,801 pull-ups. Valentino's record-setting effort was part of an effort to help Veterans Operation Wellness inspire vets to make the same commitment to their health and wellness that they made for their country.

Damn impressive especially for the amount of mass he carries -was expecting a wiry rock climber type guy

Steve Proto holds the record for the heaviest weighted pull-up (206 lb attached at 200 lb BW) and a bunch of others and he is a Marine as well. What is it with Marines and pull up records?

I saw a picture of a vet who’d lost both legs doing chin ups and it said “What’s your excuse?” under the picture.

Legs are kinda heavy. That’s my excuse.

Marines tend to glorify pullups. It’s no surprise quite a few are good at them.

That’s a pullup every 14.7 seconds. Amazing.
