Thanksgiving long weekend means a lot of travelling for family, so I went to slip in a quick one this morning and tweaked my hamstring trying to aggressively warmup. So I just stuck with bench to be safe. Skipped squats.

Well, after 4 Thanksgiving dinners this weekend (yay, double divorced parents), I thought I was in permanent turkey coma, but was able to awaken long enough to get a workout in. I did not want to do this at all, but I did not want to fall any further behind on my meet prep than I already am…

Just a basic workout to get the main work done. I’m currently behind 1 squat workout and 1 deadlift workout, but ahead 1 bench workout. I’m planning to hit my deadlifts tomorrow (which would have been the bench workout I did today), so I’m hoping to be back on track by the end of the week.

Deadlifts tonight! (5x3 @ 495lbs)

Woke at 222.8lbs this morning. A few bonus lbs from Thanksgiving weekend. I’m sure my weight will level itself out by next weekend back around the 220lb mark.

Plan is to hover around 220lbs until my comp (Nov 24), so that no real water cut is necessary. I will likely still do a moderate water cut to make sure I make weight, and helps the Wilks score out a bit too. Although, my main goal is to just lift more weight than I did in June, regardless of Wilks.

What is Thanksgiving in Canada? I guess ours celebrates meeting and getting along with the Native Indians…until we decided to murder them. I have a little Native blood in me so I’m not a complete murderer…I’m part victim too.

With our family, it’s a good reason to get together and share a meal and some laughs. A time to give thanks for the previous year and all that one has.

Although, my dinner number two was pretty late, after several ours of alcoholic beverages, and I “gave thanks” to my mother-in-law for the “amazing sex I’ve been having with your daughter”. Luckily, my mother-in-law and I get along splendidly and she thought that was hilarious.

Well, I’ve been slacking on logging my workouts.

I have two workouts I need to log tonight. I’ve forgotten my notepad in my truck twice now and have been too lazy to go get it to record on here.

Woke yesterday at 220.8lbs, so most of the holiday feast has passed through the system.

Things have been crazy busy lately, not a bad busy, just not a lot of free time. We have every weekend booked until the first week of December (and then the rest of December weekends are booked).

A lot are fun things though, like this weekend we are going to a local annual “Pumpkin Festival” where they have vendors, hay wagon rides, a pie social, homemade honey/jam/etc, pie eating competition, etc. Then we are going to watch dirt track racing on Saturday night. Sunday morning off to prepare our tree stands for deer hunting which opens on Nov 5, and then getting what probably will be my last round of golf in for the year on Sunday afternoon (it’s going to be pretty chilly!). Anyways, just figured I should pop in here with an update!

Plus, I’m working on updating my resume and putting a cover letter together for a more senior position at my current place of work. Hopefully this pans out, as it is in my field of interest and would be a very nice pay bump!

My wife’s grandfather used to get upset with the girls in the family for wearing shorts and showing their legs. My mother-in-law isn’t nearly as conservative but I wouldn’t dare mention our sex life to her.

Haha, most Dad’s I know are like that lol My wife’s grandfather saw a picture of my wife in her wedding gown (before the wedding) and his comment was “You’re not leaving much mystery for the wedding night I see!” (it was an open back dress) lol

My Dad would often ask my sister “where is the rest of your outfit?” before she went out with friends. I intend to do the same if I have a daughter!

Yikes, that was 4 rest days in a row…not good. Tonight’s workout is going to be awful. I’m going to rip through my squat, bench and deadlift work tonight. I’ll try and remember to record some videos, because I have a feeling this is going to be difficult…but good practice to deadlift while fatigued, right?

I have a daughter, she’s pretty, and I have no idea what I’m going to do about boys. I’m just going to teach her about God and talk to her all the time so no topic is off limits. Hopefully she’ll fear God enough to put off the sex stuff and she’ll talk to me about whatever she has going on. The rest is out of my hands.

I also intend to be big (either actually big or just ripped), tattooed, and armed.

Did some band pullaparts between sets. This actually took me to ~1hr mark. I need more rest between my bench sets than I do for my squats, not sure if I’m odd here.

Workout finished in ~1hr40mins which is a long ass workout for me. A lot of time just loading/unloading the bar and dong really short sets. It wasn’t a super hard workout to perform, but I’m sure it was taxing giving the poundage.

It is pretty bad that I just did the main work of what should have been 3 separate workouts and I’m still behind on my program.
