Making Gains at 38?

I’m 40 and just got back to weights. Started on “Starting Strength” program. Making great linear progress. Squat from bare bar to 115 tonight. Everything getting stronger.

Hi. I started lifting at 41 to lose some weight. I was 80kg (176#) then and wore size 36 jeans. I’m 46 now and 93kg (204#). My jeans are size 33 and I squat 175kg (386#), bench 125kg (275#) and deadlift 235kg (518#). I’ve never used drugs or even any supplements except for creatine occasionally. I don’t even use protein powder. Yes, you can make gains at our age.

My two cents.

Started working out a month before my 37th birthday. Now, at 42, I can bench 365 for two clean reps, have deadlifted 500, and can front squat 365. And I just lift during my lunch hour(and 30 minutes). If I can do it, you can; I’m the laziest mf on the planet
