Hey! So from what I have read, 200mg/week of T will put most men into supraphysiological levels of testosterone. Well I’ve been on 200 for only a month now and I feel amazing, and the week I tried 300 I felt even better. This got me thinking about being on 300-400mg/week forever but what are the consequences of maintaining supraphysiological levels of T? Is it really that much riskier than 200?
In your head my man. Not being condescending but changes in protocol don’t manifest into physiological changes that quickly.
What do your labs look like at 200mg weekly?
I do understand changes in protocols don’t result in changes that quickly in the long run blood levels but imediate spikes can surly be felt right?
No blood tests at 200 yet (labs every 6 months, so 5 more months to go). At 100mg/week I was only at 540ng/dl and not even my trough.
I’ve been on 200mg/week for a while. It’s sort of a grey area as far as long term consequences but quality of life has to be as important as quantity and this is the dose that puts me where I want to be mentally and physically. We just don’t know what damage constant low-ish supra physiological levels will cause as there just hasn’t been enough research to really say for sure. Personally I don’t think it’s going to be that bad but I’ll update the thread when I’m 80 and the internet is connected to our brain waves.
@dextermorgan Have you considered going to a higher dose? Say 250-300? Your levels being close to 2x Supra is pretty impressive. I assume that is day after weekly injection? Or…? Can’t be your trough right?
I do 200mg/week daily IM (28.6mg/day) so that’s peak & trough basically. Labs done 28 hrs after last shot. Actually those labs were at 185mg. I switch every 2 weeks between 185 & 200mg.
In my opinion there’s no point in going from 200 to 300mg. If I’m going to do a cycle it’ll be 500mg and then back to 200mg.
@dextermorgan That is still a impressive total T. Though your free seems to be lagging. I think mine was higher on my lab test when I had like 600 total T.
Found the lab:
|F|Testosterone|682|300-950 (ng/dL)
SHBG|10.3 L|13.0-71.0 (nmol/L)
Testosterone, Free| 234.3| 47.0-244.0 (pg/mL)
|F|% FREE TESTOSTERONE|3.44 H| 1.60-2.90 (%)|
Guess we are using different measures for free. Busy still, I feel like you % free is likely significantly less than what I had.
For reference that was on clomid 25mg/day
Labcorp displays free T as pg/ml but it’s actually ng. Look at the level vs the range on mine vs yours. Mine is significantly higher but you are correct it’s not extremely high. My SHBG is 39.9 so my free T will be lower in relation to total T.
@dextermorgan this gets complex quickly. Yeah I have a super low SHGB, which I thought was a good thing but apparently isn’t. I look forward to seeing my levels on 200mg/week.
Do you cycle at all? I’ve been considering blast/cruising with 200mg being the cruise.
@mobius_dick
If you look at the TRT section you’ll notice a majority of the folks having issues at moderate to high TRT (150-200mg) doses are mainly low SHBG guys. You’re better off starting at 100mg and after a minimum of 8 weeks increase by 20mg (and give it another 8 weeks minimum and assess). More isn’t better especially with low SHBG folks like yourself. I started at 220mg/week and didn’t feel great. Dropped to 100mg and did 20mg increments every 8-12 weeks until I got to where I wanted to be. Best decision I ever made as I have a fairly good idea of what each dose does for me so I can be confident with my final dose decision.
I’ve done stupid cycles when I was young and ignorant of anything T related. Both were super low dose & nothing cool. Gained some muscle when on and had no idea about PCT and got depression and lost all gains afterwards. That was 15 years ago. Get your TRT right and wait at least a year before thinking about blasting.
Well, I will note that lab was over a year ago when I was obese and had a high carb diet. Would you still recommend lower doses when I feel great at 200? I’ve read low SHGB guys do better on lower, but I’m thinking it was simply a result of obesity/diet.
Oh sorry I was thinking you hadn’t started TRT. If you aren’t having issues at that dose and that’s where you want to be then do it.
@dextermorgan No problem, I’ve had that concern as well from my SHGB, so I am keeping a close eye on symptoms to make sure I’m not feeling crappy from my 200mg/week dosage. I also inject daily so I am sure that helps. I will wait until I get the SHGB rechecked before I consider blasting. Hopefully it isn’t chronic and just a result of previous weight/diet.
No not really. Its a self fulfilling prophecy that a lot of new guys ‘feel’. You expect to feel better on test and therefore you do. You expect to feel even more on higher test and therefore you do. Yes your testosterone will peak higher in 24-48 hours but no you will not likely feel the effects mentally of physically that quickly.
your test levels are insane at that dose man! No wonder you’re an advocate for TRT haha
You don’t worry about estradiol being that high? perhaps some long term more less transparent sides
@nazgar0
My free T isn’t crazy high so the total T number is a little misleading. E2 goes up in proportion with T. I would be worried if it wasn’t that high.
My pre-trt total T was almost 600 & E2 was 48.
Yeah I was referring to your free T of 35.8 pg/mL. Seems like that would make quite a difference since lab ranges usually go up to 25 pg/mL
