I would like to hear from anyone who has experience with magnetic mattess pads. I am specifically interested if anyone has experienced deceased joint pain or improved workout recovery by sleeping on one.
I haven’t used the mattress pads, but I’ve used them for spot treatment of pain (headaches specifically). I’ve also heard a lot of anecdotes to their success (not from people trying to sell them). From what I understand, the mechanism of action is basically shutting the ion gate in the nerve to block the pain signal. Since the pain signal is blocked (or at least significantly reduced), the pain reaction of inflamation is also reduced, thereby increasing blood flow and healing potential. I haven’t had an injury that I’ve treated with magnetic therapy, but I’ve had good results with headaches. Look into the depth of penetration of the magnetic field, as I believe it’s key to their effectiveness.
