To day I substitute machine chest press for Bench press . I feel more tension on chest and shoulder than typical bench press and ramp up intensity to failure without the fear of pined or dumbbell crush on the floor.If pectoral development is main objective should not machine replace barbell ?
There is no one right answer to this question.
The “right” exercise is the one that helps progress towards your goals. If the machine allows you to adequately stimulate the chest without risk of injury, and you feel that it does so better than the barbell or dumbbell variation, then by all means use it.
Just wondering what is your bodyweight and what is your dumbbell and barbell bench press at?
