Mac and Cheese

There’s a place in NYC that basically only sells variations of this dish that I always wanted to check out.

Believe it’s called S’mac

But when I’ve been in the Southern US and ordered mac and cheese as one of my sides at a BBQ joint, I always am disappointed. But I’ve only been to 2-3 BBQ joints.

Jim ‘n’ Nicks - Montgomery, AL - I am disappoint

I love putting a pound of ground beef in my KD…unforgivable, but so satisfying.
THIS!

I things a bit hot, so what I’ll do is fry up my ground beef with some (okay, a LOT) of Cajun spice from Costco… Then when I have the Mac & Cheese ready, I dump in the lean ground beef for my kids and the cajun stuff for me. Top with Salsa and it’s to die for.

I’m not a huge fan of the Kraft box stuff, as I like to make my own with low-fat shredded cheddar (again, I prefer using OLD cheddar over medium, as the OLD gives you more taste).

:slight_smile:

mac and cheese +

tuna
ground beef
deer
veggies
salmon

you name it, its the perfect base for making a meal that only requires 1 pan…

I haven’t seen anyone chime in with these ghetto options yet:

 • Mac n Cheese with Spam

 • Mac n Cheese with a brick of spicy Ramen noodles (to make it exotic)

Don’t knock it till you’ve tried it.
Umm dude, we’ve all tried it.

But we stopped once we got past our 8th birthday or so…

:wink:

The cheese in Kraft bluebox is actually cheese flavored protein powder with some added milkfat

That’s a pretty smug thing to say on a thread about mac and cheese.

Seriously guys. It’s like eating a grilled cheese with tomato soup.

Pasta=bread
Melty cheese = melty cheese
Ketchup = tomato soup

It is awesome. To disagree is to argue with mathematical fact.

Wouldn’t that be an interesting idea? Protein shakes with a savoury flavouring.

I had lobster mac and cheese with truffle butter in a fancy restaurant down here. It was awwwsum.
