Long term lifter and runner and have experienced periods of lower back pain over the years. Typically I am able to scale back for a time, recover, and get back at it. At 40, I have not been able to recover as before. During an SI and L5 vertebral facet cortisone injection the doctor noted some arthritis. I have recently joined a crossfit gym and am now looking for information on managing the arthritis. Has anyone dealt with this? Any thoughts or guidance is appreciated.
I know this sounds condescending but it hurts then don’t do it; especially with the myriad of potentially questionable crossfit type movements.
BTW almost everyone over the age of 35 has some type of arthritis in their backs as long as your not having symptoms (continued in your case) you should be fine
