Lower Back Troubles

The right side of my lower back is significantly larger than on the left side
I have tried single leg deadlifts to try and correct this but I find the right side still tends to take the butt of the load.

Any methods I could use to correct this? I really want to start doing normal deadlifts soon but the imbalance is preventing this.

Any one have similar experiences?

It is possible that you have a leg length imbalance. This will often lead to such muscular imbalances. It is questionable whether you should address the muscular imbalance, from a functional perspective. Presumably the muscles on one side of your back got bigger for a reason.

Another possibility is from playing a sport that has one dominant hand, such as tennis.

Why is this imbalance preventing you from deadlifting?
