Lower Back Injury

I was doing seated good mornings in the gym this afternoon, when I did some kind of injury to my lower back. I haven’t yet gone to a specialist to have it analysed and I’m not intending to, unless my back does not heal for a long period of time. During this time when I’m injured, should I be doing any kind of rehab work? Or should I just stop weight training and running altogether until the pain is gone?
