Lower Back Injury - How to Keep Gains?

I have a lower back injury that I picked up working out yesterday, pretty bad. I can’t walk or get out of bed without significant pain. I think I have a disc injury and I am seeing my physio tomorrow about it.

Quick question, how do I make sure I keep as much of my gains as possible, I could possibly be out for 2-3 months, maybe more. My programme is usually Wendler 5/3/1 but I am accepting now that this injury could be a spell on the sidelines for a long while.

I am quite devastated and just want to keep my mass on the upper body if i can’t keep it on the legs. Obviously I want to be squatting again as soon as possible and improving my mobility/flexibility, but I just don’t see this injury going away quickly.

Post up what your Dr says when you can… it could be a lot of things. Either way, leave it alone for a day or two. If it’s just a strain ,you’ll have to go at it completely different than you would something worse.
