so I just spent the last 4 days in county… apparently the judge did not deem me a flight risk despite my somewhat spotty record, so she was gracious enough to grant me bail…and a fairly reasonable one at that (considering what im being accused of)
so my room mates threw a Halloween party which got pretty big… all of the other parties around town had gotten rolled on, so everyone made their way to our house (which is pretty far away from others houses so we can be loud).
I had had a long day, so I decided to call it a night pretty early… my room is detached from the main house, so its reasonably quiet. about 20 minutes after I got in bed, a girl (we’ll call her Jane) pops into my room (totally wasted), says she’s tired, and asks if she can lay down for a little bit. Im too tired to care, so I say “sure”.
I wake up the next day with Jane basically sleeping on top of me… one of her friends bursts into my room kinda hysterically, and begins to freak out when she sees us in my bed… apparently her girlfriends who she came with had been looking for her all night and were freaking out because they couldn’t find her.
long story short, Jane’s boyfriend was also at the party, was tripping because he couldn’t find her… someone told her that she “slept” with me but left out the fact that it was in the literal, not figurative sense.
boyfriend is furious, yells at Jane, and breaks up with her. im sure im missing a lot of details. (this is all that my room mates were able to piece together now that im out of jail).
sooo… even though I don’t drink, am a virgin, she woke up completely dressed, and the rape kit (yes…Jane got a rape kit done…probably trying to convince her now ex-boyfriend that she really was raped in a desperate attempt for sympathy) came back negative, I have been charged with rape, and have a court date.
im pretty pissed… I don’t have the slightest clue who this girl is… never met her before. I don’t want to shovel out cash for a lawyer, but I know if I don’t, ill probably get “convicted” and get sentenced to 20 years like William Mcaffery (youtube it).
you know you lived in a pretty fucked up society when a girl can just cry on the witness stand and a guy gets sentenced to 20 years to life… this must be that “male privilege” I keep hearing about.
any suggestions?
