Follow up toy last post “Best Damn” questions.
Background: been on the “Best Damn” pt 1 and strength programs for 30ish weeks. Want to continue to build muscle, but more concerned that my athleticism might take too much of a beating. I have been doing periodization blocks for sometime and thought I should do a speed / power block. My second impetus is that my shoulders and knees tend to get cranky and speed / power has served as a reload from heavier weights in the past- which in turn has resolved the soreness. So:
How relevant are the concepts in “Look like a bodybuilder, perform like an athlete” post “Best Damn”? Is this an acceptable deviation from “Best Damn” for approximately 4-8 weeks?
All help welcome and deeply appreciated. Hopefully I’m not asking dumb questions.
