Liquid Diet

I just had my wisdom teeth removed and the doctor said that I should keep it to liquids for 3-4 days and then carefully chew some solids for a week.

This is terrible timing, and being at school I’m having problems with diet. I’m taking in milk, Metabolic Drive Complete, and I’ve made shakes out of 2-3 eggs+ vanilla ice cream+ peanut butter. I feel terribly malnurished, and i’m barely getting 1500 calories a day, when I used to take about 3600. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I feel your pain…I’m getting my lower 2 out in 10 days and I have to be on a soft food diet for 4-6 weeks b/c of where one tooth is in relation to my jawbone.

You can still eat yogurt, oatmeal, cottage cheese (great protein source) and throw in fruits to your shake. Basically just look to eat anything that you don’t have to chew. There’s a lot of options.

Oatmeal is a bigggg lifesaver for things like this. Oatmeal and milk along with small soft fruit (raspberries and blackberries are god for this) can pack a lot of nutrients.

Eggs and other assorted stuff for shakes is good too. It’s annoying and your diet won’t be very diverse but you can definately meet your caloric needs. Just don’t necessarily look forward to eating :stuck_out_tongue: It gets old after a while.

Make home-made weight gainer shakes

2cups Milk
2scoops Protein
3tbsp natural Peanut butter
1 Banana
1/2cup Cottage Cheese

Just drink a couple of those a day

To switch it up also, substitute eggs for the peanut butter / cottage cheese, vary your fruits, and also include yogurt, ect.

A greens supplement like greens+ might be nice too
