I don’t know what kind of feedback I’ll get to this, but what the hell, I’ll give it a shot. I’ve been spending time at my current job trying to think of what it is I could do for a living that wouldn’t make me want to jab pencils in my eyeballs 10 hours a day. I have a mechanical engineering degree and a couple years of experience designing industrial machinery. I was lifting one day and started pointing out parts on machines that I used to use on my projects at work. My partner asked why I didn’t get a job designing lifting equipment. I determined that this is what I’ve been looking for.
Now for the question. Does anyone work in this industry? If so, how did you get started? What would be any advice you could give on getting into a career designing(and testing, of course) gym equipment? Thanks for any input!
