Let's Set Some Goals

Starting to get a good amount of goals here. Lets get some more though! Let me know if i screwed anybody’s goals up in my main post.

Also, if you don’t give an exact date, there really isn’t any reason for me to put the goals up there because you can never fail, which defeats the purpose of this whole thing…

Edit: A few more points…

  1. Things should be in order of sates so tell me if i effed any up. I am very bad with the order of the months. I literally learned them when i was 17 hahah

  2. I’ll add a few more categories like pullups etc when i see a good number of a specific lifts posted.

I should have read your first post better. Didn’t know you would post our goals on the front page. However, it is really motivating me to not disapoint/ look like a fool to everyone. Cool idea.

Yeah that’s why i chose to make this thread. It’s different than all the other cluster fucks for goal threads. Someone makes a “Race to 400 bench” or something then everyone posts where they currently are at and then never posts in the thread again… Pointless. This way we are all really held accountable and everybody is gonna know whether or not you failed because i am going to write failed by the goal if the person doesn’t report back, or if they tell me they failed, obviously. I’m already starting to get scared myself… Really hope the goals aren’t out of my reach

Bench 315-maybe around 50 pounds to go
Squat 405-70 pounds to go
Deadlift 495-60 pounds to go
Weight-200, about 10 pounds to go.

I’d like to hit these by year end, not sure how realistic that is.

These are my goals for 11-11-11
bench 315lbs. x 1—currently 295lbs x 1
deadlift 405x 3—currently 405 x 1
squat 315x 3 ----currently 275 x 3
power clean and press 225 x 1—currently 205x 1
bodyweight 220-225lbs—currently 215-218lbs

I am glad I ran into this thread. It is exactally what I need right now. I comming off a blown L5 S1 disk and have really gotten out of condition.

My time line is to have met these goal by July 4th.

  1. I am 20% body fat, I will lose 10lbs of fat

  2. I will bench 275 x 5, currently 275 x 1

  3. I will overhead press 165, currently 150 x 1

  4. I will do 10 dead hang pull ups, currently at 3

  5. I will leg press 20 plates x 5, currently 14 x 5

  6. I will squat 135 without pain, currently Bar x 10

19 years old - been lifting for one year

200 Bench Press (about 30 pounds to go)
300 Squat (about 20 punds to go)
400 Deadlift (20 pounds to go)
195 lbs body weight
→ By the end of May

*Get to 1000 total and 200 lbs BW by the end of August

I know I’m not exactly ‘part of the community’ in fact more of a lurker effectively raping you guys for you info I’m your sleep but I’m going to get amongst this.

First is a strange one but : pain free shoulders by 21st may.

200kg Deadlift, 180kg squat for 5th July.

Won’t be able to REALY go for those till the 21st of may as i’ve a fight on may 20th that I’m keeping my weight down for.

Update:
bench goal: 315lbsx1—currently 300lbsx1 (samll gain, but i’m happy after being stuck for 6 months, I think working w/ reverse band bench, close grip, partial bench has helped)
deadlift goal: 405x3—currently 405x3(mission accomplished) today deadlift= 435lbsx1
squat goal 315x1—currently 275x1 ( i suck at squats, but i got low, and i feel good from them…just weak, i headed in the wrong direction, I guess i need more mobility and flexablity to help here.)
power clean + press goal 225lbsx 1—currently exactly the same 205lbs.x1…i usually only try these once or twice per month so…
anyways, this thread has motivated me and I appericate the challenge byt the thread starter…thanks

oh yeah…and i weigh 220…but a bit too fat, need to trim up for summer

I updated everyones goals. Double check to make sure i didn’t miss anything. Good luck everyone

Also, if anyone else wants to jump in on this thread feel free to. I plan on keeping it going as long as im hanging around these forums

Hi here is my weekly update:

  2. I will bench 275 x 5, currently 275 x 3, 285 x 1, 295 x .75, almost got it but keep it real needed a spot

  3. I will overhead press 165, currently 155 x 1

  4. I will do 10 dead hang pull ups, currently at 3, still stuck at 3 any suggestions?

  5. I will leg press 20 plates x 5, currently 17 x 5

  6. I will squat 135 without pain, currently 95 x 10

Got my 315lbs squat.

To tell you the truth I do not think it is realistic for me to get my bench and deadlift goal.

Well, I’ll put some up there.

Body wise, I am going to be competing in my first natural bodybuilding competition in October, 2011, and my ultimate goal is to place very well and then make a run at a pro card.

Long term goals for lifts:
Back Squat: 500 x 10 , current best: 500 x 5
Deadlift: 700 x 1, current best: 640 x 1
Incline Bench: 315 x 10, current best: 315 x 3
Close Grip Bench: 405 x 1, current best: 315 x 4
Front Squat: 405 x 5, current best: 350 x 5

That’s about it for now.
