Lab Work; Recommendations

I’m slowly coming to the realization that I’m probably going to need HRT.
While my GP will order the needed bloodwork through Quest, I don’t see her but once a year (in another few weeks); and I would like to have some pertinet info in advance.

My quandry is not in the cost of the bloodwork, but the quality. I’ve read that many of the online labs, arn’t very good, as it specifically relates to the E2 test.

I was wondering if anyone was familiar with Preventive Labs; or could suggest an alternative.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Are you saying that you want to have your bloodwork done by another lab before you have it done at Quest? Why? Quest Diagnostics have a good reputation and are one of the largest labs in the US.

I would just discuss my concerns with my doctor and ask for both free and total testosterone (they sometimes skip the free testosterone) as well as E2 and the thyroid series.

Once the results come back, be sure you get a copy for your own use.
