Konstantin Konstantinovs Squat/Bench

Why he is so strong at deadlifts ,yet hes so weak at squats and benchpress, whats wrong ,he have problems with health? or he just dont want to squat/bench heavy.

He’s benched 584 in competition, I don’t think that’s weak.

Wtf is your definition of weak Razetsu?

That moved damn fast.

when did 700+ squat and 500+ raw bench become weak?

not only 500+, 580 even. I wonder if the OP has any idea how fucking rare a 600lb raw bench is, especially from full meet competitors. 584 is a fucking good bench. World record holders in Konstantinovs weight class Stan Efferding and Jon Cole had 606 and 580 benches respectively.

A 584 close grip bench is more than I’ll ever be able to even deadlift. Konstantin is an amazing all around lifter!

***Thread derail: I think you’ll deadlift that much someday

Can someone name a PLer that has done +600 bench and +900 deadlift raw? i can’t think of any.

OP, I mean no disrespect when I say

Read more, post less.

You’re 18. Before you have any opinions on any of this stuff, do some more reading.

Thanks for the encouragement. I hope so too, but not sure it will happen at 132. That would be pretty surreal though considering the company it would put me with.

Dont get me wrong ,im not saying hes “WEAK”, oh my god… but hes way too strong at deadlift and hes lack strength in others in comparison to deadlifts, because i knew that strength should be “balanced” ,that if you’re strong at deadlift you should be strong to other as well

If you see a guy deadlifting 1000lb ,then surely he can squat like 800 lb+ raw and bench 700 but konstantinovs yet lack these (NO ,hes not weak ,damn i didnt wanted to put that way), i wanted to tell it like this : P

Im sorry if you miss understood

Ratio’s are different for everyone. It could be weakness, or it could be leverage. In this case, his build is sucky for bench and squat and he still puts up impressive numbers. It isn’t weakness.

The reason he’s so good at deadlifting is because his fucking physiology allows him to be. We’re all, to a certain degree, predisposed to be ‘good’ at a certain lift. Stan Efferding is a great bench presser and an OUTSTANDING squatter, but his deadlift, relative to bench and squat…isn’t very good. It’s the way of the game. All we can do is take advantage of what nature has granted us, and excel to our best ability to get better at what we lack.

I think Ive heard him say in an interview once that he holds back on competition squat to allow him to deadlift more. 700+ raw squat? get out of town

Like someone has already said, read more, post less. Stop thinking so much about stuff that doesn’t matter. I saw your other thread as well.

A 600/700/900 ratio is pretty well rounded.

He’s built to deadlift, like a couple other people said. He’s fairly tall, has long arms and long legs. Usually people with those anthropometrics are pretty great at deadlift and less amazing at squat/bench. That being said he’s still amazing at all three. Probably my favorite powerlifter.

This is fuckin savage. I had no idea he benched with that close of a grip, looks like exactly shoulder width . Makes you wonder how much more he could put up if he widened it even a little

Hes also has crappy shoulders, he said in an interview that he can only bench with a close grip because benching with a normal grip hurts. and idk about you guys but for a guy who weighs around 290-300 pounds hes strong as FARRRKKK. and 600 700+ and 900+ in my opinion is very much balanced. hes also around 6 foot 3-4
for a tall not super heavy weight guy thats a damn good squat

As fast as he looks in that vid I wouldn’t be so sure he couldn’t squat 800. More importantly though, you gotta understand how astronomical a 700lb bench is. I can only think of 4 people in the history of mankind who have done that (didnt look it up, thats just off the top of my head). And all four of them were bench specialists, not full meet lifters.
