Knee Swelling Due to Squats

Hey guys so I have been following the smolov full squat cycle and now I have finished the mesocycle (almost) i have done my last sets today and next week I have to test my 1RM. The problem is that my left knee has swollen a lot and due to that I am not able to even get into a normal squat position without lots of pain. So since i have to test my 1RM next week what can I do to cure the knee swelling to get back to where I was in order to test my max again. I will not do any leg work until my squat max attempt.

Where is the swelling specifically? (Patella tendon, inside, outside, etc.) How bad is the pain on a scale of 1-10?

General advice before that info:

  1. Try voodoo flossing, compression, and elevation. As well as moving it as much as you can without causing pain.
  2. Don’t think that you HAVE to test your squat 1RM, just because it’s in a program doesn’t mean you have to do it. Especially with smolov which so many people get overuse injuries from (what i’d guess you’re dealing with now)
  3. If you think you need to see a doctor, you probably do.
