Killing Fat Granola

Prince Charles of Wales, future King of England, eats the same breakfast every morning, as he has a handful of his specially mixed wheat germ and cereal grains, with honey and preserves on a silver tray, a few pieces of fruit. This sounds a lot like granola. Every morning. No need to bring up the longevity of the royal family, as they live very many years to old age.

Dr. Ellington Darden, royalty as far as HiT is concerned, has written recently about granola.
On page 173 of Killing Fat there is a recipe for granola. This is a high carbohydrate, low fat, low cost, easy to fix meal.

Although Wheaties is the breakfast of champions, granola may be the breakfast of royalty and HiT!

Yes and it’s a good one. Give it a try.

Taste is off the charts!

I can’t eat nuts or seeds…any recommendations of substitute ingredients

There are many things.

  1. dried fruits
  2. Rice Krispies (crunch)
  3. shredded coconut
  4. bran flakes

I fall slightly into this category as well. I’m allergic to peanuts and wheat.

For some people (me, for sure) that can be a problem.

I stopped buying commercial granola because it was so sweet and tasty, I tended to overeat it. I’d grab a bowl, pour some milk over it, and before I knew it, my evening “snack” ended up being 500+ calories. That isn’t good if you are on a diet, and trying to limit calories to 1500-1800.

Granola parfait is off the charts.

Fruits or homemade fruit marmalade on top
Good ole yogurt!
