Kickboxing, Weight Training and Weight Loss

Hello everyone!

I’ve been reading up on a few threads here and I’d like to ask a few questions.

Ok, so the story is, I broke up and have unimaginable motivation to get better, fitter, happier, that sorta thing. I’m starting kickboxing and I was wondering whether I can combine that with weight training.
My biggest goal is to lose the weight and look good, I have little interest in achieving that beastly, bodybuilder figure. I would like to become better and stronger and a heavier hitter in kickboxing but, my job being a male nurse, I’m not too keen on busting up my hands.

In any case, the main question is, can I achieve good results doing both? I’m doing kickboxing 3x per week and I was thinking two full body weight lifting workouts per week, weekends off.

Have you ever trained before?

There is no need to bust your hands. Just buy yourself some good boxing gloves, preferably 16 Oz size and learn to wrap your hands, properly.
