Kevin Everett

Just saw him on Oprah and it was amazing to see him walk out on stage, unbutton his suit, etc. They had the doctor that handled his initial recovery on talking about how he wasn’t sure they could get him to breath on his own again let alone regain function in his limbs. Watching his rehab video gave me some chills, awesome recovery.

Yeah, it’s pretty incredible that he’s able to walk.

I remember watching that game and seeing the hit happen and thinking the injury wasn’t that bad, as we’ve all seen a lot more violent collisions in the NFL.

Kudos the the doctors and of course, Everett himself deserves a lot of respect for going through the grueling rehab process. The Bills also treated him well, including releasing him a few months ago so he could go ahead and claim disability for his injury.

Wait…you watch Oprah?

My sister watches it everyday, if I recognize someone I may sit and see what they’re discussing, so yes I guess?

You should have Kevin Everett’ed your ass up and out of the room as soon as that shit came on.

But, you are right, it is a great story and I wish the man the very best.

Did it mention any of his plans for the future?

Great recovery. Great job by his doctors and Ralph Wilson for their work in this field.

Score an important, high-profile victory for “induced hypothermia” and the dedicated researchers contributing to the Miami Project.

Very interesting.

You watch Oprah. Gay. Not ghey - but gay.

This is pure gold. Take that, government!

“On May 12, 2008 Everett was waived by the Buffalo Bills to allow him to be eligible to immediately apply for lifetime disability benefits. The Bills kept Everett on the active roster prior to waiving him to ensure that he completed three full NFL seasons, allowing him to qualify for a full pension.”

I think that pension is provided by the NFL and the Players association.
